Commercial Analyst

Job purpose:

The Commercial Analyst is primarily responsible for supporting the Beverage sales team in the development of commercial, pricing and pricing recovery strategies to optimise margin improvement initiatives.  The Analyst will work with sales, finance, manufacturing and supply chain to ensure accuracy of analysis. Critical to this position is the ability to solicit and incorporate Plant, Innovation and Design (I&D) and Sales input into the pricing process. The Analyst works with the Global Beverage Commercial team to develop key account pricing strategies and support global request for proposals.

Key Objectives & Responsibilities:

 Tender Process / Price Quoting

  • Review of product costings for all European countries; recommend changes where required
  • Deliver customer price recommendation for European Beverage business; liaise with Country Sales Managers to ensure pricing is consistent across accounts
  • Support the Commercial Manager for all Internet Tenders, RFI’s RFQ’sSales Planning Forecasting and Reporting
  • Analysis, review and consolidation of European Beverage Sales Plan and SBD Sales
  • Consolidate monthly sales reports for all European entities
  • Weekly sales reporting
  • Management of monthly sales forecasting; ongoing refinement and updating of the process

Customer Profitability Review and Improvement

  • Utilize existing profitability reports and develop new and improved reports to review customer profitability in detail across the European Beverage Sites
  • Create reports for tracking of customer price changes
  • Provide analysis of opportunities for customer margin enhancement
  • Ongoing refinement and updating of the proces

Pricing Management and Administration

  • Maximizing price opportunities; management of European selling price changes
  • Management of customer single price mechanisms
  • Maintaining and standardisation of customer pricing files
  • Maintain and track pricing recovery by account

Required Qualifications 

  • 2+ Years Board / Packaging Industry experience (Preferred)
  • 3+ Years Manufacturing Finance experience (Required)
  • Educated to minimum A-Level standard, ACMA part qualified preferred
  • 2+ Years of cost experience in manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience in pricing analysis and cost estimating
  • High level of computer skills in excel and other Microsoft related applications
  • Prior experience working with external customers a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 15% within Europe
