Customer Service Manager, Sabrina Curson, led the team, made up of GPI employees from all four GPI UK sites (Gateshead, Bristol, Bardon and Leeds) and their family members, to scale the peaks and raise over £4000 for the charity.
Mrs Curson said: “We’re thrilled with the amount raised so far but we can still do more. The event may be finished but the Alzheimer’s Society supports dementia sufferers and their carers every day. It’s not too late to donate through our Just Giving page.”
Supporting the team over the total 24.5-mile distance was Ross Finegan, of the GPI Pre-Press Office and GPI Print Manager, Peter Owens, who were on hand at the bottom of each peak with energy-boosting goodies donated by GPI customers, including Weetabix, Pladis and Taylors of Harrogate.
All money raised will go to the Alzheimer’s Society to help provide ongoing support, via the organisation’s 3,000 services across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, as well as helping to fund research into dementia care, cause, cure and prevention.
The Three Peaks challenge follows a number of other impressive fund-raising challenges completed by members of the GPI team, representing all GPI sites across the UK. The company is committed to supporting the local community and charities to contribute to a better world.
